2024 Grammy Predictions: Rihanna, Billie Eilish And Zach Bryan For Song Of The Year

Song of the Year is the ultimate prize for songwriters in the music industry, and it’s not to be fonciused with Record of the Year. While the two honors are connected—and in a number of instances, the same track collects both golden gramophones— often enough, there are different lists of possible winners for each field.
This year, the personal list of predictions for Song of the Year nominees is full of solo female musicians who have penned smashes that resonated with the public and critics. In fact, only one of the eight likely nominees mentioned below is fronted by a male artist.
Here are the predictions for the Song of the Year nominees at the 2024 Grammys.
Predictions
Billie Eilish – “What Was I Made For?”
Boygenius – “Not Strong Enough”/”Emily I’m Sorry”
Miley Cyrus – “Flowers”
Olivia Rodrigo – “Vampire”
Rihanna – “Lift Me Up”
SZA – “Kill Bill”
Taylor Swift – “Anti-Hero”
Zach Bryan & Kacey Musgraves – “I Remember Everything”
Past nominees and winners like Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, SZA and Olivia Rodrigo lead the charge, and any of them could win. Of that bunch, only Eilish has won before, while Swift is looking to finally collect one of the only Grammys she’s competed for but never won.
Rihanna’s Black PantherOscar-nominated single “Lift Me Up” is beautiful and worthy, but will voters remember the tune that was released more than a year ago (but which is eligible this time around)?
All-female alternative band Boygenius might not have landed a huge hit, but they’re critical favorites, and they absolutely deserve a spot here. Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves’ somewhat surprising No. 1 smash single “I Remember Everything” is also a real contender, as he’s overdue for some recognition,…even though he’s still new.
Here are six additional possibilities that also stand a good shot at a Song of the Year nomination.
Brandy Clark & Brandi Carlile – “Dear Insecurity”
Jelly Roll – “Need a Favor”
Lana Del Rey – “A&W”
Lil Durk & J. Cole – “All My Life”
Luke Combs – “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old”
Morgan Wallen – “Last Night”
